delicious food

Doesn't it look delicious? It looks like hard-work but not really. The vegetables and noodles came from a bag (frozen, may I add) while the shrimp I found from the freezer when I tried to straighten the contents. Add Mama Sita's chopsuey mix and I had a very filling meal. I am on a diet (had been for almost a week now) and I cannot eat this food yet so I am posting it here to remind me that when I lose the weight I need to lose, I can eat this again albeit in moderation. I am so looking forward to that day :)

e-books

I love reading. I read anything I can get my hands on but I prefer to read fiction. Specifically historical romance, mystery thrillers, and paranormal. It is easier to read fiction because then I don't have to think. I don't have to analyze anything hence it is just pure entertainment for me. I buy books online. I also buy them at flea markets or yard sales. Mostly paperbacks because hardbacks are expensive and bulky. But now that I can actually download a book to read on either my computer or phone, I am on the testing phase. If I can find books cheaper to download then I might just do it this way instead of paying more from the store for paperbacks. Hence, I downloaded Kindle from amazon. Download was free and there were actually books that were free that I have downloaded and read. It is pretty cool. Not as fun as reading a paperback which I can carry anywhere I want but close enough if I am using my touchpad or my phone. The laptop is just too bulky to carry all over the house. I am enjoying this new fad and I think I will hope for this to last longer. I even bought an e-book just over an hour ago to read at my convenience. This does not mean I will stop buying paperbacks though because I will continue to buy them as they are available. I am just trying out new avenues.

career choice

I have several choices when it comes to a future career. The husband knows about them and he disagreed with a few saying that I need to just go ahead and have my tor evaluated then finish off whatever I need to get my degree here. He says the degree I finished in the Philippines pays more if I get the equivalent here in the US. I am still thinking about it but I really want the easy way if I can. I have been thinking about being a pharmacy technician because from what I read, it is not that hard plus the fact that I don't have to be around tons of people all day at work. This I have chosen after he told me he does not want me to be nurse because he does not want me to spend more time on work than I need to. I want to work in the medical field and being a pharmacy technician is close enough. I may not be wearing sexy nurse outfit to go to work but I can deal with that. As long as I am working and I know what I am doing. Perhaps in the next year I will know more about the requirements and what I need to do to pursue my career of choice. Hopefully it is not that hard and I will be successful with what I will do for my family's sake. Maybe then I will be able to think of more choices. I do need to work on this one plan first before I can work on anything else.

back up batteries

A few months ago, the husband bought several pre-paid mobile phones. The phones were sold cheap so he grabbed what he liked and showed them to me. He said we can send some to the relatives to make a lot of people happy. We end up sending one phone because we do not know whether or not the phones will work considering that on the pack it said it will not work on other networks. I know that where the phones will go, there are people who know how to unlock phones to make them usable but I still did not send all of them. We kept them which was a good move because now we have plenty of motorola batteries for the husband's phone. His old phone's battery is acting up and does not stay charged long enough that we have to either plug it all the time or replace the battery with a fully charged one to avoid the phone going dead. He did not pay a lot of money for the phones anyway and the battery prove to be useful so I think it was a good deal. We will need a replacement for his phone but it is not up for upgrade yet so we will have to wait a few months more. Maybe we will get him a smartphone as well :)
