31 years

My parents will celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary in four days. They are not the type to give each other gifts but my mom thought it is time to start giving my dad a little present for their anniversary. She probably thinks he deserves it, they have been married four days short of 31 years, after all. So she asked me if I can give her any idea for anniversary gifts for men. Unfortunately for her, I do not have any clue what to give dad. It is because I am not used to giving anything for the husband either. Oh, I always plan on giving the husband something on our anniversary but when the day comes I come up empty handed. I may have to ask one of my friends to help me because she is good at finding presents for her husband. And I may have to ask mom what dad likes anymore because I have not been around him much since I went to college and that was a very long time ago. This gift giving is getting tricky anymore.

a beautiful day

It is a beautiful day today. Quite the contrast to the weather last week which is a very good thing. Those who were on the path of the storms of the last couple of weeks are ready for it to be over and are happy for the warm, beautiful days of Spring. Case in point, my family :D Since it is the weekend, we do not have to be up early or do anything at all. I would like to either go window shopping or walk in the park though. Maybe we will do that later when everybody is awake and ready. Right now, the husband took a nap with the little girl while the little man and I are up doing our separate business. He already had his toys scattered all over the floor while watching cartoons while I am on a break from doing chores. We hope the day will remain beautiful and the sky clear through the day.

it's been over a year

The husband used to smoke. He stopped years before we met and was doing pretty good until about a year in our marriage. He went back to smoking for a couple years but he decided to quit again hoping that this time he will not go back to it again. He said is doing it for the kids and I am happy. He was not a heavy smoker when he did. He never tried anything like Acid cigars, he stayed with cigarette. Right now he is doing good. It has been over a year since he quit smoking and he told me there are days he still craves for it but he tries to control himself because quitting is hard and he does not want to go through all that over again. I don't know if it is hard nor will I understand how it feels, but I am glad he made the decision to quit.
