The husband's aunt and uncle are old enough to qualify for social security benefits. One is over 80 while the other is over 70. They live together with the younger taking care of the older. We visit them from time to time to check on them even if the aunt has kids who also visits her when they are free. When we visit them they always have some kind of mail lying in the table about their medications and brochures about Medicare part D plans. I don't know how it works, nor do I know if they are even on medicare (maybe they are considering their age) but I know they have different medications to take. I think it has something to do with old age. One has to take medicine to make it through the day without pains or discomfort. Both seem to be doing good though even when sometimes they argue over little things. And the little man both love them and fights it when we have to go home after our visits.

sensitive skin
A lot of people have sensitive skin. A little oil in their food, more salt than usual, or sleepless nights result to acne popping up in their faces and sometimes in the neck and back too. I have seen this with my brother and I have experienced it too when I was already in my twenties. It was painful and embarrassing at the same time but I am grateful that I got over it without even the help of anything like md clear. I must admit I tried every thing I was told to do to get rid of my acne and my brother did too but instead of the acne fading it only made it worse. It was when we left it alone and watched what we eat that our skin started clearing up. He now uses a certain brand to keep the worst outbreak at bay while I, thankfully, have not had any outbreak. Or not something that worries me too much anyway. Some pop up every now and then which I blame on hormones but they go away somehow without a scar which is a good thing because I already have a lot of scars on my face and I don't need anymore. I hope my kids will not suffer the same fate I did when it comes to skin problems.
kick or contractions?
I have been baffled by what I felt lately. For the life of me, I could not tell whether it is the baby kicking or I am having contractions. The husband told me not to joke about such things because I still am weeks before my due date and that if I should give birth prematurely it will not be very good for the baby. I am not joking though. I could not tell which is which. I don't feel pain, just an uncomfortable feeling of something like pressure on my insides so I guess this is the baby moving. I don't blame her if she is as restless as she seems to be. She must be getting cramped up for space. The radiologist told me that it looks like I will have a bigger baby this time. As long as she is also healthy I am fine with that.

a detector
Some people driving down the interstate drives too fast than the speed limit. I guess they are in a hurry to get to their destination. Anyway, we noticed that some of these drivers have radar detector in their cars. We have seen quite a few when we were being passed by them on the road. I knew what it was because I asked the husband about what I have seen on one motorist's dashboard. He therefore enlightened me on what a radar detector is for and why some drivers use them. If it serves its purpose, I guess it is well and good for them.
a commercial
The little man was watching television earlier when he called me because he wanted the channel changed to his favorite that plays cartoons most of the time. I don't know if it was him or his father who changed channels but when I checked he was watching a commercial of a woman talking about acne rosacea natural treatment complete with a model whose face was littered with acne. It was not a pretty sight and I don't blame the little man for not wanting to watch that. I agree with him, cartoons are a lot better to watch than that commercial. It was informative in its own way though. At least people have more options to check out if they are suffering from acne. Just my opinion though.
tired all the time
Today, I decided to walk two laps on the treadmill. I have not walked or done any exercise in weeks that I have started feeling tired and bloated all the time. And when I looked at my feet the other day I noticed they have become huge. No water retention thankfully but they look so big and ugly. I did not look like this on my first pregnancy. A lot of the relatives said I am getting big so I am a bit conscious about it too. The husband told me that one of the best ways to lose weight is to stop eating. Unfortunately, I cannot do that or else the little girl will kick me nonstop. I have noticed that she kicks a lot when I am hungry which leads me to believe that she might be hungry too. So I have to eat. I will try to walk a few laps a day and see if it will make any difference on how I feel physically.

shopping deals
When I checked on my inbox this morning, I noticed a lot of emails from stores I frequent and have subscribed email notifications to. There are some that sent out coupons while others have information on what deals to get from their store come Black Friday. There are even free shipping options should a person decide to shop online to stay away from the shopping crowd. I have a pair of shoes I would really like to buy and with free shipping it will be cheaper than going to the store. I have compared prices and I know how much it costs. The only problem is that I will not be sure whether the shoes will have the perfect fit when it gets here. If this weather continues to be like it is (which is bad considering rain and sleet together) then I will probably just have to opt for online shopping to get the shoes I want. Either that or brave the cold weather.

i did it
Since the husband is embarrassed about my wardrobe, I made him drive me to the mall so I can shop for winter clothes. I have been meaning to shop anyway because my pre-pregnancy jackets and sweaters were too short now that my tummy is getting bigger. I bought sweaters, jackets, a coat, black maternity pants, and a pair of shoes. I did good today even if I spent a lot of money. I am happy with my purchase. The husband is happy too. He said now he will let me go with him when he goes out without him getting worried about what people will think when they see us together, lol. He is a nut. He is still affected by what people say about us especially when it comes to our appearance. He wants me to look good all the time so people can say all they want and it will not bother him much. He said at least he can say he is taking good care of me. Well, I had my fun at the mall and I love it. I actually plan on going back but not anytime soon. Perhaps next month :)

go shop
We went to the grocery store yesterday to shop for our Thanksgiving fare. The husband was dressed nice while I was, in his opinion, dressed like a ragamuffin. Of course he did not say this yesterday because it would have caused the cancellation of the trip. He was smart enough to bring it up early this morning. He said that he will never go out with me again should I opt to wear raggedy clothes. I did not see anything wrong with my clothes. Heck, we were just grocery shopping. It was not like we had an appointment with somebody. But he clearly told me that he did not like what he saw. Well, to be honest, I am a sight anyway what with my short stature and my tummy as big as a a house. It is hard to find clothes that will fit, much less feel comfortable in. He inspected my closet (I must tell you I have not shopped for winter clothes in three years) and was disgusted with what he saw. Lol. He told me to shop for winter clothes, that if I don't want to spend a lot of money on a new wardrobe at least buy a few decent ones I can wear until I am ready to shop in earnest perhaps next year after I give birth. Now, that was nice to hear. He knows I love to shop, I just don't want to spend a lot of money. But since he is telling me to shop I will not feel guilty spending money for myself. When he saw me looking at new and refurbished computers this morning he told me to stop looking at electronics since he will not pay for it. He makes it plain that he will only pay for jackets and sweaters and whatever winter clothing I buy. Oh, well. It was worth the try :)

cyber monday
I just realized that the Monday after Thanksgiving is an important day as well. For us who like to shop online that is. This should beat going to the store and rushing to get the items I want. Cyber Monday sounds better for shoppers who are like me who finds online shopping hassle-free. I have to make sure I have enough cash on my account just in case I will find toys that I think the little man will like so I can buy it for him for Christmas. I am also on the hunt for a wristwatch to buy for my mom who complained that the signature watch we sent her quit working for reasons she does not know. Anyway, the husband told me I can order one jewelry online as my early Christmas present using his online account. And that I can also, if I want, get mom a new watch. You beat I will too. That is one offer I could not refuse. I hope I will find good deals so he does not have to be out a lot of money. I love holidays especially one that is followed by all kinds of store sales.

he is an early riser
The little man has been waking up early for the last couple of weeks. Ever since the daylight saving time went in effect, he has been up at 5am. He stays in the living room and turns the television on to watch the local channel he likes. Since it is cold he brings a big blanket in the couch and stays there waiting for us to get up so he could have his breakfast. Thankfully, he does not wake us much unless he needs milk or he is really hungry. Other than that, he waits until we get up to ask for anything. I don't know how we got an early riser and if it is a blessing or a curse, lol. Just kidding. When it starts getting light outside he turns off the television and turns on one of his favorite electronics, the computer. He gets in it to listen to music and watch documentaries (this habit he picked up from his father somehow). I guess this is a good practice for when he starts school, getting up early. At least we do not have to worry about him being late.

long wait
Went for my monthly check-up today and what was supposed to be a 15-30 minute appointment turned out to be a three hour wait. My OB's office was packed that I had to wait for over an hour just to be called and then had to wait a couple more to talk to my doctor. The reception area was full and I had my answer when I got to talk to my OB. It turned out she was off the whole week last week so the patients who were scheduled last week had to be rescheduled this week. I was starving while waiting for my turn to be called that I texted the husband to buy me a Big Mac so I can eat the minute I get out of the doctor's office. And that was what I did :) I hope that on my next visit it will be back to normal, meaning no long waits just to be checked.

Thanksgiving invites and Black Friday deals
Next Thursday is Thanksgiving. We already have invitations from one of the husband's sister and his aunt. We do not know where to spend Thanksgiving yet. We were thinking about fixing our own Thanksgiving dinner and stay home the whole day but I am sure his phone is going to ring nonstop if we do not go visiting that day. There will surely be food and lots of family members around to celebrate that day. While the relatives are busy planning menus for dinner, my girlfriends are already planning where to go shopping on Black Friday. One of them said that she enjoys the rush when I told her I don't think it is a good idea to be around lots of people who are after the same bargains that I am. She said that's what makes it more fun, the competition. I guess it is but as big as I am now, I would probably stay home in the morning and maybe check the stores for leftover deals in the afternoon just to be on the safe side. I hope there are a lot of good deals this Black Friday on baby/kids stuff. Will be a good time to look for a bassinet or a crib for the baby and clothes for the little man.

getting big
As the baby gets bigger it is harder for me to eat without heartburn or indigestion setting in. It is awful but I have to live with it for the next nine weeks or so. It is hard to find food to eat that will not give me heartburn at all that I am weary to eat anymore. But eat I must if not for me then at least for the baby. The good thing about trying to avoid heartburn is that I am picky with what I eat so I have not gained weight since the last time I weighed myself. It seems like the weighing scale is stuck at 121 lbs. Yay! If not only for the fact that I am miserable sometimes I would say being picky should be included on the list of diets that work. I probably will gain more in the next few weeks but I am hoping it will not be too much since I am already uncomfortable as it is now. I cannot wait for the baby to be born. Sure I will have sleepless nights (and days) but at least the heartburn and constant running to the bathroom should be eliminated.

red box
I rented my first movie off Red Box yesterday. I have been meaning to do it but was always worried I will not know what to do and embarrass myself in front of other people. Well, I went to Wal-mart to get groceries and noticed that there was nobody near the Red Box (vending) machine so I grabbed the chance to try it out. It was pretty easy and I laughed at myself for worrying about embarrassing myself and all that. It was silly. I rented just one movie, watched it last night with my family, then returned it earlier today. I have now conquered my fear of the red box, lol. I will be going back to rent more movies in the future for sure. I like the fact that I do not have to roam around a store to pick the movie I like and that I can do it all by myself. The $1 rent (plus tax) does not hurt, either. I just hope they carry all the movies I want to watch since I noticed that there were titles they do not carry for some reason. I have checked online and it still do not show the movies I want to rent even if they have been released months before. Perhaps they will have said movies in the long run.
This is not a review.

a few more weeks
I am getting near my due date. In about ten weeks I should be scheduled for my c-section. I still have to get a baby bed (or a bassinet) but I pretty much have all kinds of clothes and little stuff that the baby might need. The husband and I still have to agree on what to do with the little man. I want him to accompany me in the delivery room but he does not want to leave the little man to any of his relatives for reasons only he knows. He is adamant on that too. We will have to come up with a good plan because I know he does not do well with last-minute preparations. I have seen what he was like under pressure when I gave birth to the little man, that is how I know we need a solid plan. If we can get one of his sisters to either babysit the little man or stay with me during delivery it will be a lot better. I hope I will have a safe delivery without the complications I went through the first time. We are so ready for the arrival of our baby girl.
