We went to the store today to get food for the little man and buy bathroom stuff which I have been trying to put off for days now. Well, the little man complained about being hungry this morning and asked for food that was not available in the kitchen. Good thing he agreed for a substitute so after he ate we had to go to the store to avoid any more incidents like that. He is a very picky eater and when he asks for food that means he really will eat it. I had a good time roaming around the store which has not happened in a long time. We are talking about Walmart here, lol. Normally, I would just grab what I need and run back to the car. Not today. I took the time to look at other displays like clothes and toys and stayed a long time at the electronics section gazing at computers where a Sony VAIO had a tag really cheap. I wondered what that was all about. I mean, as far as I know these computers are what we would consider expensive but today it was marked less. Perhaps Sony has come up with a newer and better model. Anyway, I took my time looking around and to my surprise I did not get dizzy which is what usually happens when I stay too long inside a store. I could get used to this, lol. Maybe next time I will look at books and movies since I am out of books and I do have a movie I want to watch which is already on DVD.

another round
When I talked to my parents the other day, I told them what to expect if and when we get ready to petition them. Like most Filipinos, my parents have their dream of working and living abroad. My father actually applied for a job in Canada when I was little but he was duped out of his money by the recruiter who actually happened to be a relative. He never tried it again. You could say he got burned. Fast forward decades later, here I am, married in the US which makes my parents renew their hope of getting out of the country. I actually was hesitant to let them come over because of the fast-paced life here but they seem to be interested and if it makes them happy to be here with us then who am I to say no? They already have plans on what to do. In fact, my mom said she would probably apply for healthcare jobs just like her friend in California. That started another round of explanations from me. Sometimes, I get annoyed at how naive they could get but then they never really know what it is like living here. And I do blame people who make it sound like it is easy living in the US when in fact it is not especially if a person is used to having close family ties and being around people all the time. It is just a different lifestyle and a person has to get used to it. I hope my parents will be able to so the husband and I will not have any worries once they get here. We will try to set things in motion to get ready for another round of immigration process so we could get them where they want to be.

me time
My boys are already asleep so I am taking the time to do some things without any interruption. I love my boys but I do like solitude from time to time no matter how short. It gives me time to do things that I cannot normally do without somebody yelling for me every few minutes. I conned both to going to bed early (I know I am bad) and once both were asleep I crept back to the living room. Of course the husband noticed me getting up but when I told him I was going to eat supper he just said okay. I did eat supper but that was an hour ago. Now I am online trying to figure out what to do. I know I have to get on entrecard so I can visit other blogs but I feel like I need to do something else. I wonder what? This is what happens when I am being given the chance to be alone and do what I want, I end up not doing anything productive. But anyway, as long as I have this chance to be alone I will do whatever comes to mind. This would have been a prefect night to read a book if I only have one.

we are legal
We have three cars, two we use alternately while one sits in the carport because it needs work but we could not afford to have it fixed yet. All three cars are insured though. The husband made it a point to purchase auto insurance on all three cars because he does not want to have any problems with either. True, one car sits in the carport and not used at all but its tag and insurance is current because that is how the husband wants it to be. We paid a good amount of money especially since we paid our insurance for six months at a time but it is all worth the money spent he said. As long as we are legal I am all for it. At least should we decide to sell the car without fixing it it can go any time without problems. But he said we are keeping all three for sentimental reasons.

a new grill!
The husband could not go on another week without a grill so he bought a new one. He said he feels awful about what he did to the old grill and he thought he owed me a new grill. I did not actually mind him running over the old grill. It was an accident after all. I was there and saw it happen and even laughed about it. The poor guy was embarrassed with what he did and tried to make it up. Hence, the new grill. We have not used it yet since I don't feel like grilling at the moment but it is there for when inspiration hit me. He is not very fond of grilled meat anyway and would only ask me to grill something for him when I am using the grill. But we could always use this new baby once I think of what to grill soon. Maybe even grill some eggplants or kabobs. This new grill is actually an upgrade from the old one and cost only a few dollars more. We still have a cheap grill because I don't him spending so much money on grills just as yet. Perhaps when we have our own place. He made sure this one sets higher from the ground so he could see it and avoid any more accidents. That's my man, cautious and tries to think ahead to not cause any more embarrassment for himself :)

going back to school
The husband and I talked about what I need to do to have a better career in the future. He said I could pursue my engineering degree or I could look for another option, one that I like and feel comfortable working in. But he also told me if I want to have a better option at a career I need to go back to school and get a four year degree. He is actually adamant about me going back to school. He said it is for mine and the kids' future. He is right but right now I still have a toddler and I am pregnant so going to school is out of the question yet. He told me though that once I give birth to our second baby I need to make the decision because if nothing else he said I could start doing online classes. There are several Online Schools I could choose from and he wants me to condition my mind that that will be what I do when we get things ready. I am apprehensive still. It has been years since I was in school and I don't know if I will be able to do it over again. He said it is easy but what is easy for him might not be for me. Oh well, I need to think and think hard. I have always wanted a better future for my family and I know I need to work on it because it is not going to happen with me just sitting at home.

it was run over
The husband is backing out of the driveway when he said he hit something. He did not get out of the car but thought about what it could be and then cursed when he realized it was the grill we just bought a few weeks ago. The bottom part of the grill was mashed and only the cover was still in shape. I laughed so hard when I saw the poor grill but the husband was not too happy. I could not blame him, he bought the grill after all after I whined about not having one. It was partly my fault because I did use the grill the previous night to grill chicken barbecue and forgot to put it back in the carport. Now it is useless and is lying in the bottom of our trash can. The husband said he will never buy me another grill. I know he does not mean it. He has a right to be angry and I give him that. In a few weeks I will talk to him about the benefits of grilled meat until he decides to buy another grill. Next time though I will make sure to get it out of the way after I use it to avoid any more incidents.

it is easy to shop online
I appreciate the guest post, Jewel Rodgers.
I never knew how easy it was to shop online for a car. When my vehicle broke down I needed an easy solution. I didn't have much money saved up and needed an affordable car. I decided to search on my satellite internet service to see what was out there. I was able to find plenty of cars that were in my price range.
The first site that I went to using my satellite internet service Kentucky was craigslist.com. I never knew how many cars were listed on this site by owners. In fact, there are even dealers that list their cars on craigslist. I was a bit hesitant to buy a car through this website, as I didn't know if it was trusted or not. I decided to call a few people to go and see the actual vehicles.
To my surprise the cars I went to see were not that bad. I was actually able to find one car that was in my price range and did not have many problems with it. I bought it from a used car dealership that actually existed. I was able to negotiate the price and get a 2001 Honda Accord for $5000. A few years later I still have the car and it drives great. I am glad I used the internet and that my satellite internet prices are still low.

a good deal
We were informed the other day that the husband's ex-wife has found a nice house down south. The husband is happy because it means she will live there near their kids and somebody will keep a close eye on the stepson who still needs supervision. The house was foreclosed on and she said she had a good deal. She even said she will let the stepson move in with her which is a good thing so he will be able to save some money and maybe straighten some things out. Last we heard they were out looking for appliances because every appliances in that house were taken by the previous owner. Next time we will probably be informed they are looking at modern couches for her house. The husband feels relieved right now that somebody has taken over while we are living on another state. I do hope things will work out fine for the stepson. Maybe his mother will be able to straighten him up some a bit.

electrical works
We have the landlord in our kitchen trying to fix the kitchen lighting since we have heard popping noise in it the other day. We had to turn off the breaker to avoid any accident since he said he will not be able to fix it what with all his other rental properties needing some attention. Today is the day he scheduled us for a repair and he is doing it right now. He has been at it for hours already and I think he has found the problem finally. I hope it will get fixed good so there will be no more problems. We might not have a lot but we do have valuables at home. Anyway, the little man has been itching to climb up the ladder the landlord is using. He has been in the kitchen several times to check if he could do it but there is no way since his father is sitting in a chair watching the ladder really close. He knows that his son will try to climb no matter what it takes so he is not taking any chances. He sure takes child safety to heart which I don't really blame him. We both know what the little man can and will do when left on his own. I will be happy when this fixing is over. We will be fan-less in the kitchen but if it is what it takes to make the wiring safer then we are all for it.
