stifling hot

I love summer because I can wear shorts and shirts and not worry about getting cold. I don't have to wear jackets and bulky clothes to keep warm. It is sunny most days and every thing just looks beautiful. But never let me get under the sun to do anything or I will be complaining nonstop. Like what happened the other day when the husband wanted me to join his son and cousins in the pool. I know I will stay cool in the pool but it was in direct sunlight and I was not comfortable with that. The husband did not understand. Nor will he ever, I don't think. He grew up always wanting to get a tan and the surest and cheapest way to do that is to sunbath. So he is not bothered with heat much. While I grow up trying to shade myself on hot summer months. Where umbrella is used all year round not only for rain but also to protect us from the sun. So when I say it is hot he looks at me with annoyance since he said everybody knows that for a fact, lol. I have told him several times that I may have been born and raised in the tropics but I never went outside to purposely get a tan or get hot. Ever. A chore has to be done real early in the morning or, if it is not that important, it can wait until the temperature cools down which is around five in the evening. If it is about work then a person has to tough it out since money is more important to survive. No matter how many times I have told him this facts he does not remember. Or more like he refuses to believe it. And until he realizes I mean what I said, he will continue to hear me say "it is hot" which is one of the things he does not like to hear from my mouth. Right along with "it is cold" and "I am hungry".

Hahaha! That's a very Filipino trait, complaining about the heat. I am with you on staying under the shade when the sun is shining brightly. I love sunny weather but I don't like the heat, sweating or getting a tan.

I do hope your hubby will finally understand your complaints :)

By the way, thanks for the comment that you left at my blog. Happy weekend!
