what happened to the yard?

Ever since Fall we have not cleaned the yard. It is littered with dried leaves and tree limbs. It does look unkempt but the husband does not seem to care. When we moved here a year ago he made sure we cleaned up the place inside and out and that includes raking the yard and setting out bags and bags of dried leaves in the curb. We live in a duplex which is surrounded by different kinds of big trees including really old Oak trees. The trees give a lot of shade during summer which I like very much but the husband said if it is up to him he does not like trees near a house. Well, we are in the south and everywhere you look there are big trees some of which are over a hundred years old. He might as well get used to it, lol. He surprised me last night when he cleaned the carport with the blower and then sprayed the outside walls with bug repellent so the spiders will not get inside the house. It must really have looked awful for him to do that. I did not notice because whenever I do the laundry (the laundry room is outside) I don't look around much less stay longer outside given how cold it is sometimes. Maybe when the weather gets warm enough we can go out and clean the yard if he is up to it.

We have lots of trees as well. They are beautiful but the cleanup is so time consuming.

Yes, cleaning up is so time consuming so we just let leaves and limbs pile up and maybe schedule a clean up day come Spring.
