about health insurance

I don't have health insurance and that is a fact. We decided to drop me from the husband's health insurance from because it was too expensive and it didn't pay my hospital bills when I gave birth. It gave us a lot of stress and worries not to mention time doing follow ups and such. All to no avail. We don't want that to happen again if we can prevent it.

We are currently looking for a cheaper health insurance for me because we plan on getting pregnant (if I am not already) next year. I have searched a lot that I even ended on NC health insurance website. There are a lot of insurance providers I encountered online and it makes me more confused. Perhaps I will search and see if there are forums where people rate insurance providers to make sure I know what I am getting when I get one.

Most states have an option, for pregnant women, to get insurance, evenif they are married and husband has insurance. You just have to prove that you cant afford, to be on your husbands plan, and that maternity is not covered on your husbands plan. I forget the actual name of this program, but your local medicaid office, or even your ob gyn doctor, should be able to steer you in the proper direction.

i tried to search about medicaid before but we don't qualify. so the best thing to do is to look for something affordable.

I will have to rack my brain to see if I can remember the name of the program. It is not based on your income, and is for uninsured pregnant women. I will try to think of it for you.
