We have been in the south for quite some time and I have been familiar with the terms low country because that is what people call the area where I am at, it being a coastal county with a city actually below sea level. How they managed to keep it up and still running is a mystery to me. Maybe the technology plays a major part. But anyways, I know about the low country but I only heard about the Outer Banks just today. And through reading knows that it is a long string of narrow barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina, our neighbor state. Truly I need to know more about this place we are living and the neighboring states as well. It is fascinating to know about words and names and commit it to memory for future use.
